Winners and Losers of the Titans 2025 NFL Draft!

The 2025 NFL Draft is in the books, and the Tennessee Titans added nine players to the team. Obviously, the team selected Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No.1 overall pick, but general manager Mike Borgonzi also addressed other positions of need with players who could be building blocks for the future.

Here is the Titans full 2025 draft class (Follow Easton Freeze on X):

Let’s celebrate the end of the draft by going through some winners and losers from the Titans moves and selections from the three-day period.

Winner: QB Cam Ward

Cam Ward is the biggest winner. He was the No.1 overall pick, received the blessing to wear No.1 from a franchise legend, and is now the face of the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans also added a few playmakers for Ward on Day 3. Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor could be immediate impact players for Tennessee at wide receiver, along with Calvin Ridley and Tyler Lockett.

Ward has a ton of pressure on him, as he may be the most important draft selection in franchise history. However, his playstyle and confidence make me believe that the Titans have finally found the guy.

LOSER: WR Treylon Burks

Burks was already a fringe roster player before the draft, but with the Titans selecting two wide receivers in the fourth round in Dike and Ayomanor, the 2022 first-round pick is in danger of being cut after training camp.

The Titans should trade Burks, but it always takes two to tango, and teams are unlikely to give up draft capital for a player who is always hurt and isn’t productive when on the field.

Dike and Ayomanor provide a lot more upside than Burks, and with Ridley and Lockett being the clear-cut top two guys at receiver, Burks will be fighting for a roster spot in camp.

UPDATE: The Titans also signed Cam Ward’s former teammate, Miami WR Xavier Restrepo, to a UDFA deal.

Winners: Titans young linebackers

The Titans didn’t draft a linebacker, and all they have done this offseason at the position is sign Cody Barton and trade Kenneth Murray to the Dallas Cowboys.

Barton will be one of Tennessee’s starters at linebacker, but based on their free agency and draft moves, it looks the Titans are going to give James Williams, Otis Reese, and Cedric Gray chances to be the other starter at the position on Dennard Wilson’s defense.

Losers: the Titans tight ends

The Titans used the No.120 overall pick in Round 4 on Texas tight end Gunnar Helm, who is a solid run-blocker and exciting pass-catcher. Helm could be Tennessee’s future No.1 tight end and carve out a role on the Titans’ offense in 2025, which isn’t good news for Josh Whyle, David Martin-Robinson, and Thomas Odukoya.

Whyle has been disappointing to start his career, and Martin-Robinson and Odukoya made the roster last year but also didn’t do too much. Adding Helm puts a lot of pressure on them, and even Chig Okonkwo, who is entering a contract year.

Winner: Owner Amy Adams Strunk

Let’s not sugarcoat this: The Tennessee Titans are one of the most irrelevant franchises in American sports. The team has been awful over the last few seasons and was unwatchable for most of last year. The franchise is also very very very very boring to other NFL fans.

However, that could all change soon. Cam Ward has the potential to completely shift the narrative around the Tennessee Titans, and Amy Adams Strunk would be the biggest winner in that case. With a new stadium on the horizon, Strunk needs her team to be somewhat marketable. Ward will bring eyeballs to the Titans and much more if he ends up being the player we think he can be.
