5 Players Titans should target in 2025 NFL Free agency

Draft rumors surrounding the Tennessee Titans have clouded the fact that NFL Free Agency starts next week!

Though free agency shouldn’t be the place where you build your team, it is a good time for franchises to address some pressing needs with potential impact players. This free agency cycle, the Titans will have $50.7 million in cap space, per Over the Cap. Let’s go over 5 players I think general manager Mike Borgonzi should target.

Cooper Rush, QB Cowboys

In my latest mock draft, I had the Titans selecting Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No.1 overall pick. Going off that, Tennessee should bring in an experienced veteran to compete with Will Levis for the backup quarterback job, and Rush would be perfect for that role.

The 31-year-old filled in nicely for Dak Prescott in 2024, posting a 4-4 record while tossing 12 touchdowns to five interceptions. Rush also started five games in 2022 while Prescott dealt with an injury and led the Cowboys to a 4-1 record. The former Central Michigan standout will be cheap to sign and would be a high-level backup for the Titans.

CONTRACT PROJECTION (PER SPOTRAC):

Morgan Moses, OT New York Jets

The Titans must upgrade at right tackle this offseason, as Nicholas Petit-Frere and whoever they threw at the position in 2024 was a complete liability on every single play. Morgan Moses is 34 years old (his birthday is on March 3rd, lol) and isn’t a long-term solution at right tackle, but the veteran has a ton of experience as a starter and is coming off a career year with the Jets. Moses allowed just two sacks and 16 quarterback pressures with a 63.3 PFF Grade in 2024 (14 games played).

CONTRACT PROJECTIONS:

  • SPOTRAC: 1-year, $2 million

  • PFF: 2-years, $10 million with $6 million guaranteed ($5 million AAV)

Will Fries, Guard Colts

Fries was on pace for a Pro Bowl-level season in 2024 before suffering a season-ending tibia injury during Indianapolis’ Week 5 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 26-year-old only played a handful of games but allowed just two sacks and six quarterback pressures in 153 pass-blocking snaps with an 84.9 run-blocking grade.

Though his 2024 campaign was cut short, Fries started all 17 games for the Colts in 2023 and provided adequate play. The former Penn State standout is an ascending player who would be a fantastic replacement for Dillon Radunz if he departs Nashville in free agency.

CONTRACT PROJECTIONS:

  • SPOTRAC: 4-years, $56.5 million ($14.1 million AAV)

  • PFF: 4-years, $57.25 million with $30 million guaranteed ($14.3 million AAV)

Nick Bolton, Linebacker Chiefs

The Mike Borgonzi connection strikes here. Bolton has been a pivotal piece to the Chiefs dynasty and has patrolled the middle of the defense at a high level. The former Missouri standout has totaled over 100 tackles in three of his first four seasons and had 44 defensive stops in 2024.

Bolton’s aggression and physicality would be a perfect fit in Dennard Wilson’s defense, and the Titans have a major need at linebacker.

CONTRACT PROJECTIONS:

  • SPOTRAC: 4-years, $49 million ($12.3 million AAV)

  • PFF: 4-years, $60 million with $40 million guaranteed ($15 million AAV)

Azeez Ojulari, EDGE Giants

Harold Landry’s future is uncertain, as the Titans gave the former Pro Bowl defender permission to seek a trade. Tennessee is already thin at the position, so losing Landry would create an even bigger need.

Though Ojulari has had injury issues and has been in a rotational role for most of his career, the former Georgia standout showed a ton of promise in 2024, posting six sacks in 11 games.

Ojulari’s lone 17-game season came in his rookie year in 2021, and he tallied eight sacks and 42 quarterback pressures. The Titans should look to sign the former second-round pick to a low-risk, high-reward deal and see if he can reach his full potential in Nashville.

CONTRACT PROJECTIONS:

  • SPOTRAC: 2-years, $15.1 million ($7.6 million AAV)

  • PFF: 1-year, $5 million with $4.25 million guaranteed
