It’s the Heinrich Haarberg Show for Nebraska Now…
It all begins with an idea.
After a dreadful 0-2 start, Nebraska has bounced back nicely the last two weeks, defeating NIU and LA Tech. Though these wins should be expected out of the Huskers, it’s nice to see them taking care of business with ease. One of the main reasons why Nebraska has been so successful the past two games is none other than QB Heinrich Haarberg…
The former Nebraska High School Football Star has filled in for Jeff Sims the last two weeks and has outperformed Simms by a longshot. Haarberg’s over-the-top speed and agility have taken this Nebraska offense to new heights, as they have put up over 380 yards of offense over the past two weeks, including 417 today. Though this came against inferior opponents, it’s still a welcoming site to see. Now the question most are asking after today is, has Heinrich officially taken the QB1 spot from Sims? Here’s my answer…
Absolutely, Haarberg should be Nebraska’s starting QB the rest of the way because he gives them the best chance to win. Though both QBs can be sloppy with their pocket passing and accuracy, Haarberg’s decision-making and athletic potential give him the nod over Sims, in my opinion. You could argue that Sims played against tougher opponents, but I believe that Nebraska would’ve been more competitive in the games against Colorado and Minnesota if Haarberg was the starter to begin the season. But obviously, that claim is subjective and hypothetical…
Maybe I’m overreacting to two great wins to not-so-great opponents, but I want to continue to see the Heinrich Haarberg show for Nebraska!!
