Titans Vs DOLPHINS: Three ways Tennessee can pull off the Road Upset
The Tennessee Titans are gearing up for a matchup with the 9-3 Dolphins on Monday Night, and let's just say that the Two-Tone Blue are heavy underdogs. Miami are 13 point favorites in this AFC matchup, and the Titans have lost four of their last five games. Tennessee will also be missing their best defense player, Jeffery Simmons, who is out with an ankle injury. Though winning this game is likely out of the picture for the 4-8 Titans, here are three ways they can pull off the road upset in South Beach!
Vintage King Henry
Derrick Henry ran all over the Colts' defense last week before he had to exit due to concussion protocol. The King is healthy and refreshed heading into this matchup, and Tennessee will need a "vintage" performance from their franchise icon if they want any chance to defeat these Dolphins. Miami's run defense is one of the league's better units, as they allow just 96.6 rush yards per game. But they have yet to encounter a running back like King Henry, which could be a major determining factor in this game...
Best Defense is Offense
This key goes hand in hand with a Vintage Derrick Henry performance. The Titans' defense hasn't been able to meet expectations this season, and the Dolphins could effortlessly drop 40 points. Tennessee's secondary is among the poorest in the league, and Miami's passing offense is as potent as they come. The Titans must win the time-of-possession battle in this game and keep Tua and Tyreek on the sideline. Derrick Henry and Tyjae Spears should see a heavy dose of carries Monday night...
Win the Turnover Battle
There is zero chance that the Titans win this game if they lose the turnover battle. The 32-point-per-game Dolphins' offense will make you pay if you don't take care of the football, so Will Levis and the Tennessee offense must emphasize ball security and decision-making. Tua and the Dolphins have done a decent job of taking care of the ball, but the former Alabama QB has thrown 10 INTs in 12 starts this season. If the Two-Tone Blue can win the turnover battle and force some turnovers, the chances of winning skyrocket exponentially!
Winning this game will be a tall task for Vrabel and the Titans, but if they follow these three keys, they could accomplish the impossible!
