The Mike Vrabel Era in Tennessee has reached its boiling point

The Tennessee Titans lost again, shocker. The Titans fell to Baker Mayfield and the Bucs in Tampa 20-6 today, and everything that could've gone wrong did. The Titans were outplayed, showed no effort, and were severely outcoached. After today's pathetic loss, the playoffs are a pipe dream for the Two-Tone Blue, as they would have to play near-flawless football the rest of the way to have a chance of qualifying for the postseason. Though many are quick to blame the players and front office, Mike Vrabel is public enemy number one in Nashville. Many fans have reached their boiling point with the longtime HC, and I can’t fault the fanbase for feeling this way…

The Titans are undisciplined and poorly coached, and that starts with Mike Vrabel. The culture that the former All-Pro linebacker built in Tennessee is gone, and this team no longer embodies their head coach. Past Titans' teams were physical, hard-nosed, and would do anything to win for their coach. The 2023 Titans' can be that, but it's clear that Vrabel doesn't have the ability to maximize the talent on this roster. Vrabel is also painfully inept in key, late-game situations, and it was on full display today. Coach Vrabel decided to kick a field goal on 4th and goal inside the six-yard line when the Titans were down 17-3 in the fourth quarter. Instead of trying to punch the ball into the endzone to make it a one-possession game, Vrabel decided to kick a field goal to keep it a two-score game, knowing his offense wouldn't get too many more opportunities. Competent coaches like Andy Reid, Nick Sirianni, and Kyle Shanahan play to win, but Mike Vrabel plays not to lose!

The Titans are 3-13 in their last 16 games and haven't won a road regular season game in an entire year. Those are two fireable stats that Amy Adams Strunk can't ignore. If she had the guts to fire former GM Jon Robinson when the Titans were 7-5 last season, what's stopping her from canning Vrabel? Mike Vrabel revolutionized the culture of this franchise, but all good things come to an end. He's revitalized the Titans and turned them into a winner, but it's evident that he is no longer the correct fit for the job...
