This NFC team is the Perfect Fit for Jonathan Taylor

The Colts are allowing Taylor to seek a trade…

Yesterday, Ian Rapoport announced to the NFL world that Jonathan Taylor is indeed available and that the Colts are allowing him to seek a trade. Though many believe that the Bears should make a move for Jonathan Taylor, this other NFC North team should pursue the Star Running Back…

The Minnesota Vikings should pursue a potential Jonathan Taylor trade. Though many believe it would be foolish for the Vikings to trade for Taylor after cutting Dalvin Cook, it would be an upgrade in all aspects. The Vikings would be getting a younger version of Cook that is currently not getting paid as much. Obviously, the Vikings would have to pay Taylor if they trade for him, but I think it would be kinda worth it. Running Backs have lost all value in the market, but it is rare to see a 24-year-old, First-Team All-Pro guy on the trade block no matter what position he plays. The Vikings also have a solid O-Line, as Christian Darrisaw has established himself as one of the best tackles in the league. Minnesota also can’t pass up the opportunity to pair Justin Jefferson with Jonathan Taylor. That would be a lethal combination for years to come!! The only downside of this trade for the Vikings would be the high risk. Giving up draft capital and money for an RB coming off a couple of injuries is a huge gamble, but one I would make. Speaking of draft capital, how much would Minnesota have to give up to acquire the former Badger???

The Colts are seeking a first-round pick -- or package of picks that equates to as much -- in a potential Jonathan Taylor trade, per Stephen Holder of ESPN. A first-round pick is a little too much value for Jonathan Taylor, but Minnesota could make this work. They have their first-round pick in next year's draft and their second-round pick. If I were Minnesota GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, I would offer a second and fourth to Indy first, and see what they think. That could be enough to get the deal done if the Colts don’t have any better offers. If the Colts decline, I would consider the first-round pick, but hesitantly. The goal for Minnesota should be to keep their first-round pick at all costs, no matter what!!

In the end, I don’t expect the Colts to get a first for Taylor, and then they would have to take the best available offer. Minnesota could potentially have that best offer, and it would be totally worth it for the Skol. Taylor has been flying under the radar due to an injury-riddled 2022 season. Let’s not forget what he did in 2021, as he was in the MVP discussion for most of the season. Pairing Taylor with JJetas, TJ Hockenson, and Kirk Cousins could be trouble for defenses around the league!!
