Biggest Winners and Losers from the Titans preseason win over the 49ers
The Tennessee Titans kicked off the 2024 campaign with a victory, defeating the San Francisco 49ers 17-13 to open the preseason. The Two Tone Blue shut down the 49ers' offense after the first quarter, surrendering just six points in the final three-quarters of action. The offense didn't have their best outing but did enough to give Brian Callahan his first win as an NFL head coach.
Multiple players raised their stock in Saturday's win over the 49ers, while some didn't turn in their best performance. Here are the biggest winners and losers from Tennessee's preseason win over San Francisco.

WINNER: Linebacker Chance Campbell
Not only was Chance Campbell the best defensive player on the field for most of the night, but he was also the team MVP in the preseason-opening win. The former Ole Miss standout did a little bit of everything, posting nine tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, and the game-winning interception. Campbell made multiple key tackles that stopped the 49ers from moving the chains and patrolled the middle of Dennard Wilson's defense admirably.
The 24-year-old took advantage of his opportunities tonight and could be on his way to a roster spot.

WINNER: Defensive Lineman Keondre Coburn
The former Texas standout had an outstanding game on Saturday, forcing a fumble and sacking Dobbs on a critical fourth down late in the fourth quarter. The 24-year-old's power on the interior of the Titans' defensive line was on display all night, as Coburn assisted in a couple of sacks due to his interior pressure. The former sixth-round pick is fighting for a roster spot and took advantage of every snap he played on Saturday.

LOSER: Cornerback Tre Avery
When in doubt, pick on Tre Avery. This is a motto that many offensive coordinators probably used when playing the Titans in previous years, and it was true once again on Saturday. The 27-year-old has been inconsistent at training camp and didn't turn in a good performance to open the preseason, allowing a 33-yard completion to 49ers' WR Frank Darby and continuing to be a liability in the secondary.

LOSERS: Running backs not named Pollard or Spears
Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears were excellent in limited snaps, but the other running backs competing for the RB3 job didn't have the best games. Hassan Haskins, Julius Chestnut, and Jabari Small couldn't find any room to run, as all three averaged under three yards per carry. Chestnut may have been the biggest loser, as the 23-year-old fumbled a toss from Mason Rudolph, which led to a turnover.

WINNER: Wide Receiver Bryce Oliver
Oliver had just two catches for 16 yards, but the 24-year-old is quickly turning into Malik Willis' favorite target. The former Youngstown State standout made an exceptional catch on the sideline in the third quarter, but it was called back due to a penalty.
Though he is still a likely practice squad player, Oliver raised his stock on Saturday.
