Why the Titans should Shut down Will levis for the Rest of the 2023 Season

Another week, another stupid and self-inflicted loss. The Titans dropped to 5-10 after losing to the Seahawks on Sunday—bad penalties, poor offensive line play, and a dormant second-half offensive some up this loss. I'm not here to recap or even talk about this game because it was the exact same movie all over again, just on a different Sunday. QB Will Levis missed today's game with an ankle injury but could be healthy enough to return to action next week against the Texans. Though this is a possibility, it would be wise for the rookie to sit out for the season's final two games, and here's why...

Tennessee has already been eliminated from playoff contention, so these last two games are meaningless for the Two-Tone Blue. Throwing Levis back out there behind this putrid offensive line for two games that mean absolutely nothing would be ill-advised and mindless on Tennessee's part. The former Wildcat is already dealing with a semi-serious ankle injury, and thrusting him back into game action could worsen the injury. Carthon, Vrabel, and the rest of the Titans' front office already know that Levis is the starter for next season, so what more do they have to see from the rookie?

"If your able to play, you play." This is what Will Levis told the media earlier this week. I commend the rookie's toughness and grit, but there is no benefit for him to take another snap in 2023. This offensive line is a safety hazard for any QB, especially for a signal-caller already dealing with a bum ankle. Shut down Levis and start focusing on a pivotal 2024 season…
