Seven-Round Titans Mock Draft
Did someone say mock draft season? With the Tennessee Titans officially being eliminated from playoff contention after their disheartening loss to the Houston Texans, many fans are looking ahead to April's draft. Here is my first official seven-round Titans' Mock Draft, with a trade!
MOCK TRADE: Titans move up to pick 5, trade Bears pick 9, pick 106, 2025 3rd and 2025 5th
R1 P5: Olu Fashanu, OT Penn State
The Titans' offensive line is the clear liability of the team; we've known this since Week One. Andre Dillard, Dillon Radunz, Jaelyn Duncan, and Nicholas Petit-Frere have all taken snaps at LT for Tennessee this season, and all four have been putrid. Drafting Penn State OT Olu Fashanu would sure up the Titans' LT position for a decade plus. Fashanu has arguably been the best pass protector in the nation this season, as he hasn't allowed a sack or QB hit in 382 pass-blocking snaps. The 21-year-old is PFF's top-ranked OT in the 2024 class and has been pro-ready for quite some time now. Though taking an offensive lineman in the first round back-to-back years may be bland, protecting the QB is one of the most important aspects of football. The Titans' inability to keep opposing pass rushes off their signal-caller has haunted them the past few seasons.
R2 P40: Xavier Worthy, WR Texas
The Titans lack speed at WR and have been searching for an explosive deep threat for years. Texas WR Xavier Worthy would be a perfect fit alongside Deandre Hopkins and a hopefully healthy Treylon Burks. Worthy's speed and big-play ability make him not only a viable deep threat but also a security blanket in the middle of the field. The former four-star recruit would form a lethal connection with Will Levis and would finally add that over-the-top aspect Tennessee has lacked offensively since the departure of AJ Brown.
R5 P153: Zy Alexander, CB LSU
After the offensive line, the Titans' secondary has been the second-poorest unit on the team. Kristian Fulton has been a hot mess this season and will never play another game in Nashville after he was placed on IR last week. Sean Murphy-Bunting was a low-risk signing, but it's clear that he isn't the long-term answer at corner for Tennessee, either. Though the Titans will likely address this pressing need in free agency, it would be a wise choice for Ran Carthon to draft a CB to start the later rounds. LSU CB Zy Alexander's lengthy frame, ball hawk potential, and in-line speed would be a solid depth piece for Shane Bowen's secondary.
R6 P185: Beaux Limmer, C Arkansas
Aaron Brewer hasn't been atrocious at center for the Titans this season, but this offensive line needs new starters at almost every position. No center in the NFL has allowed more pressures and QB hits than Brewer this season, and his undersized frame continues to give him troubles in pass protection. Arkansas Center Beaux Limmer has experience playing both guard positions and started at center for the Razorbacks this season. His 6'5, 307-pound frame would be a welcoming addition in the middle of the Titans' offensive line.
R7 P219: Carson Steele, RB UCLA
Derrick Henry potentially leaving the Titans in the offseason has garnered more and more steam, as the King made some very cryptic comments about his future in Tennessee after the Titans' loss to the Texans. If Henry does find a new home in 2024, Tyjae Spears would be the likely starting RB. Though the rookie has been electric in a limited role, it would be logical for the Titans to add another young running back if Henry departs. UCLA RB Carson Steele's big frame and high motor would pair well with the twitchy Spears. Steele rushed for over 1,500 yards and 14 TDs in his final year at Ball State before transferring to UCLA in 2023. The former four-star JUCO recruit is an incredibly efficient runner and has never fumbled in his collegiate career.
