NFL Week 3 Hot takes: Staley fired, Bengals Lose Again!

Hot Takes are the best part of the NFL Season!!

The third week of the NFL Season has arrived, and a lot has happened so far through two weeks. Heartbreaking injuries, major upsets, and surprise 2-0 teams are just a couple of storylines that have shaped up so far this season. With that being said, let’s look at some extremely hot NFL Week 3 takes!!

The Rams will upset the Bengals

You know the NFL is back if the Bengals are in an early 0-2 hole. It’s been a rough start to the season for Cincy, especially for Joe Burrow and the offense. Though last week against Baltimore was a much better showing than what they put up in Week 1 at Cleveland, it still wasn’t the same Bengals we are accustomed to seeing. Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow just don’t seem like they’re on the same page right now, as it;’s been a rocky and inefficient start for both of the former LSU Stars. The Rams upset the Seahawks in Week One on the road but fell back down to earth in Week Two with a loss to the 49ers. Though they fell, LA was able to keep it close the entire game, and Sean McVay is coaching phenomenally with a mostly talentless roster. Many expect this week to be the week that the Bengals wake up and get back on track, but it won’t be a walk in the park for the home team on MNF. All the pressure is on them, if they lose this game, the panic button will be aggressively pressed…

The Commanders upset the Bills

Washington is 2-0 for the first time since 2011 and are coming off an impressive comeback win on the road in the Mile High City. This week will be the real test for Washington against Buffalo. The Bills and Josh Allen rebounded in a humongous way last week with a dominating victory over the Raiders. Allen and the offense looked near unstoppable, but it won’t be as easy against the Washington Defense. Though they struggled last week, this Commander’s defense is the heart and soul of their team and controls the line of scrimmage against most offensive lines. The offensive line and run game happen to be the Bills’ two biggest weaknesses, which Washington should be able to expose quickly. Buffalo should win this game, but don’t be shocked if this is a Sam Howell and Commanders coming out party to the rest of the NFL…

The Giants get shut out for the second time in three weeks

The Giants barely escaped with a win over the lowly Cardinals last week, and were infamously embarrassed and shutout on National Television in Week One versus the Cowboys. This week, the Giants have the honor of facing another one of the top defenses in the NFL, the 49ers. San Fran will be making their home debut on TNF today, and will definitely be motivated to show out for the faithful. The 49ers’ defense completely shut down the Steelers in Week One and did a decent job on a Rams’ Offense that threw the ball nearly 60 times. Daniel Jones usually doesn’t bear well under pressure, and that will be a major issue with Nick Bosa and the Niners D-Line coming after him. If DJ tries to run, he will have to face the wrath of Fred Warner in the process as well. Saquan isn’t expected to play in this game for NY, which makes things even worse. Don’t be shocked if there is a giant goose egg on the scoreboard by the end of Thursday Night Football with Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit…

Brandon Staley will be fired after another loss

This is the boldest of them all, but one that I feel like is coming sooner rather than later. I hate to be the guy who calls for someone’s job, but Staley is blatantly holding back this Chargers’ team. LA arguably has one of the most talented and complete rosters in the entire league and have spent a ton of money to build up the team. And even after all of that, they are still 0-2 and losing the same exact way every week. Staley is a defense coach and should be able to coach up this Chargers’ defense to be at least average, but they’re not. LA’s defense has been roasted this season, especially the secondary and linebackers. They haven’t been that spectacular against the run either, which could’ve at least helped their corners. Herbert and the offense have been doing their thing, with new OC Kellen Moore, but it hasn’t mattered. Staley doesn’t know what he is doing in late late-game situation and is fumbling his job right before our eyes. The Chargers play the Vikings this week, and I have no faith in this Chargers’ defense to come even close to stopping this explosive Vikings offense with Jefferson, Hockenson, and Addison. This could be another loss for LA, meaning 0-3. I don’t know how much longer the Spanos family can watch another Franchise QB being wasted because of poor coaching and defense play…
