This FREE AGENT WR IS AN Underrated target for the Titans!

The Tennessee Titans have plenty of needs that must be addressed this offseason. From the incompetent left tackle play to the burnt-toast secondary, GM Ran Carthon has a ton of work to do in order to reconstruct this roster back to relevancy. Though the offensive line and secondary need the most attention these next few months, WR is also a position Tennessee is below average at. Deandre Hopkins was the only viable receiving threat on the team in 2023, and the Titans have been craving speed and big-play ability at receiver since the departure of AJ Brown. Though many are pleading for Tee Higgins, the 25-year-old will likely remain in Cincinnati for at least one more season. Instead, the Titans should turn their attention to this free agent WR...

To some, Curtis Samuel may sound like a dull name, but the 27-year-old would add an element Tennessee's offense has lacked over the past few seasons. Samuel's 4.31 speed and ability after the catch would be a welcoming addition to the WR room in 2024, as the Titans were ranked as the third-slowest wide receiver corps in the NFL last year. The former Ohio State Buckeye hauled in 62 catches for 613 yards and 4 TDS in 2023 and only dropped two passes (91 targets). Subpar QB play has caused a dip in Samuel's numbers over the past two seasons, but the impending free agent has all the tools and still produced adequately, given the situation. Though Samuel's speed, ability to separate, and ability to create yards after the catch make him an attractive free-agent target, hiring Brian Callahan as HC makes this potential signing a perfect fit!

Curtis Samuel does most of his work in the slot, as nearly 70% of his offensive snaps came in that slot position. The Titans' new offensive style under Callahan will likely utilize slot receivers a decent amount, as Tyler Boyd found success in that position under Cally and Zac Taylor. Samuel's days of being a WR2 in the NFL are over, but the former Buckeye is still a trustworthy WR3/Slot player. Tennessee will still have to find a dependable WR2 in either the draft or free agency, but acquiring Curtis Samuel to play in the slot and serve as the WR3 for cheap would be a clever move. Carthon wouldn't have to break the bank for him, and Callahan has succeeded with slot receivers!
