This Titans Player is quietly becoming one of the Best at His POSITION!

Many NFL fans probably know about Titans Safety Kevin Byard, as the former Middle Tennessee Star has carved out a tremendous career thus far. On the other hand, Byard’s safety counterpart, Amani Hooker, is a lesser-known name who should garner more attention than he’s getting. Though he isn’t a household name yet, Amani Hooker is quietly putting together a breakout season that will get him recognized as one of the better safeties in the league!!

Hooker was drafted with the 116th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Titans. The former Hawkeye had a limited special teams role his first two seasons in the league, as veteran safety Kenny Vaccaro started alongside Byard for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. During the 2020 season, Hooker should his potential on defense as a ball hawk, as he came down with four interceptions on the year while only playing 42% of the snaps. Tennessee released Vaccaro in 2021, and Hooker earned the starting safety spot alongside Kevin Byard heading into the 2021 season. Since earning the starting spot, Hooker has struggled with different injuries, but when he is on the field, the 25-year-old is a difference-maker for Shane Bowen and the Tennessee Defense. This led to Tennessee giving Amani a three-year, 33-million-dollar extension before the start of the 2022 season. The Titans extended Hooker hoping he would have a breakthrough season and establish himself as one of the better safeties in the league; it looks like that season is this year. Through four games, Amani Hooker is playing at a different speed and tempo that he has never played with before. Amani already has 21 tackles on the season, with two TFLs, a forced fumble, and an interception.
