Biggest Week 1 NFl STORYLINES

NFL

The NFL season is upon us, as Week One will kick off on Thursday. Here are the biggest storylines to keep an eye on as the NFL gears up for their long-awaited return!!

Debut of Rookie QBS

Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, and Anthony Richardson will make their debuts at the exact same time on Sunday. Young will play the Falcons on the road, Stroud will tackle the Ravens in Baltimore, and Richardson will make his debut at home vs. the Jags. Though it’s exciting to see the three top QBS in this past draft play in Week One, it won’t be pretty for two of them. Expect CJ Stroud to get plenty of Welcome to the NFL moments versus the tough Ravens defense, and Richardson to be inconsistent in a loss to the Jags. On the other hand, expect Bryce Young to do just enough to win his NFL debut in Atlanta, led by his rock-solid defense. In totality, the rookie QBs are going to take some time to settle in and get going…

The Sam Howell Show commences

Washington has struggled to find even a serviceable QB option since Kirk Cousins left the team in the 2018 Offseason. Ron Rivera and the Commanders are hoping that Sam Howell can be that guy, and so far they believe so. Howell impressed Rivera in training camp, and the team has placed a vote of confidence in the former Tar Heel. Washington plays Arizona at home next week to open the season. If Howell can get off to a good start against an atrocious Cardinals defense and lead Washington to a win, it will be a good start to a hopeful step in the right direction season for Washington and Howell…

Super Bowl 52 Rematch

The Patriots and Eagles will play against each other for the second time since their epic Super Bowl five and a half years ago. Both teams have gone through massive roster overhauls since they last met back in 2019, but the game still holds a lot of intrigue. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles will look to start off their revenge tour on a good note with a win in New England. Mac Jones will start his make-or-break third-year campaign vs. the defending NFC Champions and will have his hands full against a tough Philly defense. The game will also be a welcome-back party for the GOAT, Tom Brady, who will return to Foxboro as a fan for the first time. Will Mac Jones start his third season with a win? Or will Jalen Hurts have a rockstar start to his MVP Campaign??

Tua Vs Herbert

The number five and six picks in the 2020 NFL Draft go head-to-head at SoFi to kick off the season. Tua will look to put an injury-riddled 2022 behind him and bounce back in a humongous way in 2023. On the other hand, Justin Herbert will look to put an embarrassing playoff loss behind him and get another shot at the postseason in 2023. Miami and LA are two very explosive and high-powered teams, so we should see a surplus of points on the board from both sides. Will we see Tua and the Dolphins capture a very impressive road win on Sunday, or see the start of an MVP Season for Justin Herbert??

The LONG-AWAITED Gang Green Debut

Aaron Rodgers will make his debut for the Jets at home vs. Josh Allen and the Bills on Monday Night. There’s no Week One matchup that’s more anticipated and interesting than this potential AFC Championship preview. The Jets have put together the best team they have had in the past 10 years, and morale in New Jersey and New York is as high as ever. On the other side of New York, Bills Mafia is hoping that this is final the year the team gets over the hump. It all starts Monday Night at 7:15 P.M. CT on ESPN at Metlife. Will Aaron Rodgers and the Jets justify the offseason hype, or will Josh Allen and the Bills start off a hopeful Super Bowl season with a win??

The time has arrived! Enough talk, predictions, projections, etc. It’s time to play some football!!!
