This Titans Player should be Traded by the Deadline!

The Titans have been the center of attention regarding trade talks, as the team is likely headed for a long-delayed rebuild. Tennessee recently traded All-Pro Safety Kevin Byard to the Eagles, which has sparked many rumors about who could be on the move next in Nashville. Though Derrick Henry and Deandre Hopkins have been two prominent names linked in rumors, this Titans' defensive player should be the one who gets dealt by Tuesday's Deadline...

Denico Autry signed a three-year, 21-million-dollar contract with the Titans during 2021 Free Agency. Autry has been a pleasant surprise for the Two-Tone Blue since signing, as he has tallied 21 sacks and 46 QB hits in 35 career games in Tennessee. The former Colt and Raider has found a home in Nashville as a dominant interior pass rusher and run stopper and was one of the finer moves former GM Jon Robinson made in his six-year tenure. Though Autry is still a respectable and adequate player, it's time for Ran Carthon to move the 33-year-old, and here's why...

Autry is in the final year of his deal, and there's no way the defensive end obtains a second contract in Tennessee after the season. The former Bulldog has a below-average 60.7 PFF Grade and has portrayed signs of decline in 2023. The Titans are headed for a full-scale rebuild, and it makes no sense for Autry to be on the roster during the transition period. Denico can still fetch Tennessee a Day 3 pick at the deadline, and there's no point in forfeiting one of your better players for nothing. The former JUCO Star can still contribute valuable rotational pass-rushing snaps to a contender, but his time in Nashville has run its course...
