Top Derrick Henry Landing Spots if the Titans deal the Star RB
Derrick Henry is arguably the best running back in the NFL and has completely dominated the sport for over half a decade. Though he is nearing 30, Henry is still a game-changer for Tennessee and is a threat to break a long run at any time. The Titans are currently sitting at 2-4, and it doesn't make any sense for the former Alabama Star to waste his final prime years on a subpar team. Trading Henry would also allow the Titans to start their much-delayed rebuild. With that being said, here are the top landing spots for The King…
Henry's Value on the Market: One Mid-Round Pick and One Late-Round Pick
The Favorite: Philadelphia Eagles
The long-rumored trade many believed would happen in the offseason could go down at the NFL Trade Deadline. When the Derrick Henry trade rumors first materialized in the offseason, AJ Brown and many Eagles fans voiced their opinion on the situation and pleaded for GM Howie Roseman to make the move. Instead, Tennessee held on to Henry, and Philly traded for Deandre Swift. Though the Eagles' RB Room is pretty deep, Roseman has a reputation for adding star players to take his team over the top. Henry would reunite with many former teammates in Philadelphia, including AJ Brown and Julio Jones. The rich get richer if this deal goes down, and it would likely make the Eagles the Super Bowl Favorites. Many will call this move unnecessary and improbable, but King Henry in Philly seems like a match made in heaven…
The Runner Up: Buffalo Bills
The Bills' Offense is breathtaking and electric when clicking, but the team once again lacks an assertive run game. Though his numbers would take a hit in a Star-Studded Offense, Derrick Henry to Buffalo would be a fantastic fit. Henry fits the city perfectly, and the Bills have missed having an elite running back since the departure of LeSean McCoy. Adding Henry would finally give the Bills that formidable and gritty presence they have been lacking on offense and may make them the favorite to come out of a stacked AFC. Henry playing with Josh Allen doesn't sound fair at all, and opposing defenses will have a long day trying to tackle those two goliaths!!
Third place: baltimore Ravens
If you thought Derrick Henry and Josh Allen were dangerous, think about a Lamar Jackson and King Henry duo. The Ravens were set at RB to begin the season, as many in the organization believed this would finally be the year J.K. Dobbins broke out as a premier RB. Unfortunately, Dobbins tore his ACL in Week One, and Baltimore is back to square one. John Harbaugh and his crew want to run the ball and establish themselves as a physical team but have been unable to accomplish this because of inconsistencies in the backfield. Adding Henry would give the Ravens the most potent rushing attack in recent NFL history. Nobody in Baltimore would say no to this deal, and I know Lamar Jackson wouldn't for sure!!
Fourth Place: Tampa Bay Bucs
Baker Mayfield and the Bucs are sitting at a shocking 3-2 to start the season and maybe getting their hopes up in West Florida. Though their passing attack is solid, Tampa needs a consistent running game to challenge any of the top contenders in the NFC. Acquiring Derrick Henry would immediately fix this problem and make the Bucs a Dark Horse Super Bowl Contender. Though this landing spot is unlikely, there is still a slight chance that all parties could make it work…
King Henry deserves to finish his career with a contender, and Tennessee isn't the place for him anymore. There has yet to be an official report that the star will get dealt, but the Titans should strongly consider it. You could still fetch some draft capital, and he's in the final year of his deal. It's time for the Titans to think about the future and realize they are no longer a contender in a loaded AFC...
