Will levis is entering the biggest game of his career versus the Colts

The Tennessee Titans are entering a pivotal divisional matchup on Sunday, as the team returns from their Week 5 bye week to take on the Indianapolis Colts at Nissan Stadium. The Titans (1-3) are off to a disappointing start to the season, but a win over the Colts (2-3) could revive the campaign and get Tennessee back into the wild-card conversation.

If the Titans want to pick up a massive victory on Sunday, quarterback Will Levis needs to play cleaner football. The 2023 second-round pick leads the league in turnovers with nine, and his poor decision-making and wild tendencies have cost Tennessee multiple games this season. Though this Week 6 AFC South matchup just seems like a standard afternoon game in October, it's actually the biggest game of Levis' young career.

Levis' status is currently up in the air for Sunday, but Callahan stated during his Monday press conference that he'd practice on Wednesday, and his shoulder injury is improving.

Mason Rudolph wasn't earth-shattering in Week 4 while in relief of Levis after his shoulder injury, but the former Steeler played mistake-free football and aided the Titans to their first 30-point game in over 1,000 days. Despite Rudolph guiding Tennessee to the first victory of the season, head coach Brian Callahan reiterated that Levis is the starting quarterback if healthy. Though many believe Rudolph gives Tennessee a better chance to win, 2024 was always supposed to be the Will Levis' trial year, and there is almost zero incentive to start Rudolph for the rest of the season. Callahan made the right decision sticking by the second-year quarterback's side after the Titans' MNF triumph.

With his backup playing well in Week 4 and Tennessee entering a must-win game on Sunday, there's no excuse for Levis to underperform this week. The Colts' secondary is one of the worst units in football, and the Titans have extra time to prepare for this game due to their bye week.

Many in the fanbase are already out on him, and another abysmal performance in Week 6 versus the Colts will significantly damage Levis' case to be Tennessee's franchise quarterback. A 1-4 hole with the Bills, Lions, Vikings, Commanders, and two matchups versus the Texans still on the schedule will be near impossible for the Titans to recover from.

In the end, Levis must step up on Sunday to potentially salvage the Titans' season and his audition to be the franchise signal caller in Nashville. He should be given the entire year to prove himself, but this weekend's AFC South battle is a major moment in Will Levis’ sophomore campaign.
