Top NFL Trade Deadline CANDIDATES (2023)

This Halloween could be spookier than usual, as the NFL Trade Deadline is set for October 31st. Many teams are stumbling and will be looking to unload expensive veterans and build for the future. Let's look at the players who are most likely to be traded!!

Kirk Cousins, Vikings QB

I wrote an article about a potential Kirk Cousins trade earlier this week, so I'll keep this one short. The likelihood of the 34-year-old QB being traded is increasing by the day. Minnesota is 1-4, and Cousins isn't in their long-term plans and is in the last year of his deal. If the Vikings fall to the Bears tomorrow, Cousins being traded is highly probable, given the situation with Justin Jefferson. Minnesota could smoothly get a mid-round pick, and more for the former Spartan come Halloween. The Jets, Falcons, and Patriots are the three most probable landing spots for Kirk…

The Broncos WRs: Sutton and jeudy

To say the Denver Broncos are a mess right now is a substantial understatement. Denver is currently sitting at 1-5 after their Thursday Night loss to KC, and the team needs to start building for the future and cut their losses. Sutton and Jeudy have been in trade rumors for years, and this trade deadline should be the year the Broncos pull the trigger and trade at least one of them. With Jeudy being on a rookie contract and still young, he will produce the most value in the open market, but Sutton would be my pick to trade. The former SMU Mustang is nearing 30, and his piece no longer fits the puzzle in Denver. Both could be dealt, but it would be wise for Denver to bank on Jeudy's potential and trade away Sutton for a mid-late round pick. The Cowboys, Patriots, and Lions could be looking to add Sutton or Jeudy to their WR corps…

Marquise Brown, Cardinals, WR

Though they are sitting at 1-4, Arizona has looked considerably better than expected. Many believed they would be the worst team in the NFL by a wide margin, but they have been competitive in most games. Still, they should be looking to offload as many veterans as possible to continue this total rebuild. Marquise Brown has been solid to start the season, and many contending teams would give up assets to acquire a deep threat like Brown. The Cowboys, Browns, and Bills could be interested in Hollywood's services.

Brian Burns, Panthers Edge

One of the league's most underrated players could have a new home in a few weeks time. Carolina is the only winless team remaining, and Burns could fetch the Panthers a high draft pick to continue building for the future around Bryce Young. Burns will be a game-changer for a contending team and shift Super Bowl odds around the league. His pass-rushing ability and high motor make him one of the best edge rushers in our game today. The Chiefs, Seahawks, and Ravens are potential suitors for Brian Burns and his expiring contract…

Derrick Henry/Ryan Tannehill, Titans

The Titans are currently sitting at 2-3, but a loss in London versus the Ravens could change the entire trajectory of the franchise. Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry are both in the last years of their deals and past their primes. The selections of Will Levis and Tyjae Spears in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of this past draft showed that Tennessee is preparing for life after Tannehill and Henry. GM Ran Carthon could get maximum value for the two veterans if he deals them at the deadline, and you don't want to lose them for nothing. The Falcons and Jets are potential destinations for Tannehill. The Eagles, Ravens, and Bucs could be teams that pursue The King…

You never know what you'll get from the NFL Trade Deadline. Last year, a league record ten trades went through, and many impactful players were dealt. Then there are some years when no one gets traded, and it's a regular Tuesday in the Fall. We'll see what happens on Halloween, but it's an exciting time for NFL Fans!!!
