Why Sunday against the Ravens could be Ryan Tannehill’s Final Start as a Titan!

The Titans head overseas this week to square off against the Baltimore Ravens, and this game is one of the biggest in the Mike Vrabel Era. Tennessee is currently sitting at 2-3, and a loss in London could tank their playoff hopes entirely. If he underperforms on Sunday, Ryan Tannehill’s job could be in jeopardy, and it may be Malik Willis or Will Levis time…

Last week’s loss to the Colts wasn’t Ryan Tannehill’s fault, but the 35-year-old hasn’t been inspiring to begin the season. Through five games, Tannehill has thrown just two touchdown passes to five interceptions and has an abysmal 37.1 QBR. For reference, Zach Wilson has a higher QBR than Ryan Tannehill currently. Tennessee is now sitting at 2-3, and if they tumble to the Ravens this week, it would drop their record to 2-4 and likely cut their playoff chances to less than 15%. If it gets to that point, you must see what you have in Willis and Levis because the season is lost. Though many will point to the 2019 Titans as an example of a team that started 2-4 and made it to the AFCG, that scenario is improbable to happen again for Tennessee. Tannehill is in the last year of his deal, and you already know he isn’t your future starter. So why wouldn’t you make a change and see what you have in two young QBs? Plus, the Titans have a bye week after Sunday’s game in London vs BAL, so it would be the ideal time to make a change at QB…

Now, let’s answer this question: Who would you put in to replace Tannehill, Levis or Willis? I would favor Willis because he showed way more in the preseason and better understands the offense. Levis needs more time to get settled into the routine of being an NFL QB, and he doesn’t know the offense well enough to start a regular season game. Levis didn’t get much of a chance in the preseason due to injury, but he got outplayed by Malik against the Bears when both saw the field an equal amount. Though both QBs have a long way to go in their developments, Willis and Levis should both get a shot at some point this season if Tannehill continues to underperform and lose games…

The Ryan Tannehill Era in Tennessee is ending, and it’s a bittersweet ending. He was a significant part of the revitalization of this franchise and was a flat-out winner for many years. All good things come to an end, and unfortunately, the end is near for Ryan Tannehill…
