The grizzlies will win the Finals next year

NBA Free Agency has pretty much concluded, with most of the top free agents choosing their next homes. We are still awaiting some news though, as the likes of James Harden and Damian Lillard still need to be traded. With that being said, I believe there is a team in the Western Conference who has had a sneaky good offseason, and could potentially give the Denver Nuggets a run for their money. The Memphis Grizzlies will not only win the Western Conference, but the NBA Finals next season!!

The Grizzlies had a ton of distractions last year that ended up ruining a potential playoff run. The Ja Morant situation obviously is the big one, but also Dillon Brook’s annoying behavior. Hopefully, Morant has learned his lesson, especially after getting a 25-game suspension. Brooks just signed with the Rockets, so his behavior is no longer a problem. The Grizzlies also had a sneaky good free agency as they brought in veteran talent and leadership. Derrick Rose will be a massive help in the locker room for Memphis, and a potential mentor to Ja Morant. Marcus Smart will replace the Dillon Brooks’ role in Memphis as the gritty, tough defender. Smart should absolutely be an upgrade over Brooks as well. Memphis also traded for Josh Christopher from Houston, who adds even more athleticism to the backcourt. These moves may not move the needle for some, but it was what Memphis needed to add to an already good roster. The only roadblock for Memphis will be the first 25 games without Morant, where Memphis must find a way to stay above .500. If the Grizzlies can do that, I can see them hoisting the Larry O'Brien next June!
