OVerreaction Monday: Titans training Camp
The Titans just finished the first practice of week 2 of training camp.
Titans’ Training Camp is currently commencing, here are some overreactions from camp, so far….
Arden Key will have 14-plus sacks
Key has dominated camp so far, as his well-rounded, pass-rushing skillset has been on display. Tennessee signed the 27-year-old pass rusher in March to a three-year, $21 million deal out of Jacksonville. The contract is looking like a bargain as Key has been the Titans’ best pass rusher so far in camp. He recorded a whopping seven sacks in one practice and has had fellow free agent signing Andre Dillard’s number. The Titans have just started Week 2 of camp, and are now wearing pads. Let’s see if Key can continue to dominate the Titans’ inexperienced O-Line …
Will Levis will easily win the QB2 Job
This may not be an overreaction to some, as Levis had an incredible day of practice today. The former Kentucky QB was nearly flawless during 7v7 and 11v11, as he made tight window throws look effortless, per Sam Phalen. Malik Willis has outperformed Levis so far in the offseason and camp, but today’s practice should be a major confidence boost for the second-round pick….
The Titans’ defense will be Top 5 in the league
The Titans have always had a good defense under Mike Vrabel, besides the 2020 disaster. This year, the defense will go from good to great. Jeff Simmons, a motivated and healthy Harold Landry, Arden Key, and Denico Autry will lead one of the best pass rushes in the league. Kevin Byard and Amani Hooker will continue to be one of the best safety duos in the league. The Corners should be slightly improved as Sean Murphy Bunting pairs with Kristian Fulton and Roger Mccreary. Middle Linebacker is a bit of a question, but if that can be solved, Ten will have one of the most feared defenses in the entire league…..
Tennessee will win 12+ games this season
Giant overreaction, but overall, the team has looked great so far. Deandre Hopkins is going to add another element to this Titans’ team that they have missed since trading A.J. Brown, and the defense looks great. Derrick Henry is still going to be great and should have a chip on his shoulder as he is no longer the undisputed best RB in the league. Finally, Mike Vrabel is the number one reason why the Titans will win 12-plus games. One of the best coaches in the NFL has constantly overperformed with below-average rosters and should have tons of fun with this overall decent Titans team. Tennessee isn’t popular with the media or fans, so many will believe this isn’t an overreaction, just a fantasy….
