2023 is make or Break for Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott must find playoff success in 2023

Dak Prescott has been the QB for America’s team for the past seven years. Though he’s been highly criticized by fans and the media, Prescott has established himself as the franchise QB of the Cowboys. The Cowboys have made the playoffs almost every year of Prescott’s year he has started. Getting to the playoffs is one thing, but winning in the playoffs is another. Dak and the Cowboys have struggled on the winning part….

The Cowboys haven’t had much success in the playoffs since their 1996 Super Bowl-winning season. Dallas is a disgusting 5-12 in the playoffs since 1996 and hasn’t played in an NFC Title game in 27 years. Prescott himself is a mediocre 2-4 in the playoffs and has had some real playoff stinkers. The most notable ones were against the 49ers, where Dak was the reason why Dallas lost those respective games. In both games, the former Bulldog struggled to find open receivers and committed costly turnover after costly turnover. Prescott’s other two playoff losses weren’t entirely on him, but he could've made more plays to get Dallas across the finish line…..

You can’t make the argument that Prescott doesn’t have any help and that Dallas has failed to get him weapons. Ceedee Lamb is a more than capable WR1 that Dallas drafted, Tony Pollard is a Pro Bowl back, and he has a tremendous offensive line. Throughout his career, the Cowboys have made moves to support and keep the QB happy. Some of those moves include trading for Amari Cooper during the 2018 NFL Trade Deadline, giving Prescott an astronomically large extension, and using many early-round picks on wide receivers, offensive lineman, and running backs. Dallas has also built up a pretty good defense over time with the likes of Demarcus Lawrence, Trevon Diggs, and Micah Parsons. Prescott has had help throughout the years to get the job done, but he hasn’t. This years Cowboy team is arguably the best team they have assembled in a while, with the additions of Brandin Cooks and Stephon Gilmore. No excuses for Dak and Mike McCarthy this year, none!!

Is Dak Prescott good enough to lead Dallas to the promise land?? If he is unable to complete the mission this year, he will never be able to. If the Cowboys can figure out the Zach Martin situation, this team will be right up there with the 49ers as the most complete roster in the NFL. It’s time to stop sugarcoating the situation, if Dallas can’t win the Super Bowl this year with Dak under center, it may be time to move on and start over……
