Deandre Hopkins was cut by the Cardinals on May 31st as they were unable to find a trade partner due to Hopkins’ contract. Since being cut, Hopkins has been linked to many teams but the two that stick out the most are the Tennessee Titans and the New England Patriots. Hopkins took a visit to both organizations, but left both visits without a contract agreement. Even though Hopkins would press a desperate need in New England, the Titans need him way more….
It feels like every offseason the Titans are in the wide receiver market trying to improve that position. Ever since the release of Julio Jones and the disaster trade of A. J. Brown in the 2022 offseason, the Titans have had the worst receiving core in the entire league. That could all change if the Titans could land Hopkins. The future hall of famer is no longer the dominate, alpha wide receiver he once was on the Texans, but he is still a more than capable receiver. Hopkins joining Treylon Burks would be a nice duo in the Music City for Quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The signing of Hopkins could also help Derrick Henry, who has led the league in carries three times in his career. The only problem for the Titans is the potential contract Hopkins will demand. According to Tim Graham of The Athletic, Hopkins is looking for a One year, 15 million dollar contract from his next team. This contract would be very similar to the one that Odell Beckham Jr received from the Ravens earlier in the offseason. The Titans have about eight million dollars in cap space.
