Titans players who have exceeded EXPECTATIONS in 2024!
The Tennessee Titans have been underwhelming in 2024, as the team is 3-8 and will likely receive a top-ten pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Though it has been a rough season for the Titans, Brian Callahan's squad picked up an awesome 32-27 win over the Houston Texans in Week 12 and may have generated some momentum heading into the final six games of the campaign.
Though some Titans players have disappointed in 2024, there have also been a bunch of guys who have impressed and exceeded expectations at the same time. Let's go through four Titans who have exceeded expectations during the 2024 season.
WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine
Westbrook-Ikhine didn't garner a single target in the first four games of the season, as he was behind Deandre Hopkins and Treylon Burks on the depth chart. With Hopkins traded and Burks out of the lineup due to a knee injury, NWI has seen more playing time and is taking full advantage of increased opportunities.
Over the last seven games, Westbrook-Ikhine has hauled in 17 catches for 304 yards and SIX RECEIVING TOUCHDOWNS (tied for 5th in the NFL). The former Indiana standout has been one of the most consistent players on the team since the bye week and should receive a multi-year contract extension from general manager Ran Carthon in the offseason.
RB Tony Pollard
Many were skeptical of the Pollard signing, but the former Memphis Tiger has proved all the doubters wrong and is the engine of Tennessee's offense. Pollard has totaled 978 scrimmage yards (800 rush, 178 receiving) and four touchdowns in 11 games this season and is averaging 4.3 yards per carry.
Since Tyjae Spears has been riddled with injuries this season, Pollard has been the workhorse back for the Titans and is flourishing in that role. The 27-year-old is reviving his career in Nashville and has given fans something to cheer about in a disappointing 2024 campaign.
CB Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
The fifth-round rookie out of Louisville was expected to be Tennessee's CB4 in 2024, but injuries to L'Jarius Sneed and Chidobe Awuzie have thrust Brownlee into the limelight. Though he hasn't been perfect, the 23-year-old has been physical and reliable, playing 533 snaps in 11 games and allowing a 62% completion rate.
Young corners usually struggle early in their rookie campaigns, but Brownlee has played with confidence all year and has a bright future in Nashville.
RG Dillon Radunz
Though the right tackle situation has been an unmitigated disaster for the Titans in 2024, Dillon Radunz has provided steady play at right guard. The 2021 second round pick has allowed four sacks and just 19 quarterback pressures in 373 pass-blocking snaps and has been tenacious in the running game.
Radunz's surprise breakout season should land him a nice payday in free agency this offseason, but Tennessee should look to re-sign the reliable interior offensive lineman in the spring.
