There is an obvious solution to the Titans’ right tackle disaster!

The Tennessee Titans offensive line is off to an underwhelming start to the 2024 season, as the unit has shown little improvement through three games despite the offseason acquisitions and hiring of Bill Callahan as OL coach. One of the primary reasons for Tennessee's dysfunction on the offensive line is the play of starting right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere.

Through three contests, Petit-Frere has allowed three sacks and 13 quarterback pressures, per PFF, and those numbers are likely even higher than what Pro Football Focus has reported. The 2022 third-round pick is a clear liability and can't be the starter at the position for much longer if the Titans want to turn their season around after an 0-3 start.

Though many are looking at the free agency market for a potential solution to the right tackle debacle in Nashville, the Titans have a feasible answer already on the roster in current starting right guard Dillon Radunz.

Radunz is off to a decent start to the 2024 campaign as the right guard, surrendering one sack and seven quarterback pressures with a 64.9 PFF grade through three games. But the 2021 second-round pick's versatility is a major asset and should be used to salvage the Titans' right tackle issue.

In eight games as the starting right tackle in 2023, Dillon Radunz quietly played well, allowing just three sacks and 17 quarterback pressures in over 500 snaps. The 26-year-old also posted a 67.83 pass-blocking grade and a 67.4 run-blocking grade while operating as the right tackle. Though the coaching staff views Radunz as a guard, and the former NDSU standout is performing well at the position, Nicholas Petit-Frere is unplayable, and moving Radunz back to right tackle would be the best move for the team.

Veteran Daniel Brunskill is currently the backup center for Tennessee but started 14 games at right guard last season and was serviceable, allowing two sacks and 26 quarterback pressures, along with a 67.1 PFF grade. The 30-year-old isn't the best scheme fit in Bill Callahan's system, but the Titans desperately need competence on the right side of the offensive line.

Dillon Radunz and Daniel Brunskill aren't close to elite-level offensive linemen, but the duo can provide serviceable play on the right side and are much more viable options than Nicholas Petit-Frere. Brunskill at RG and Radunz at RT give Tennessee the best chance to protect quarterback Will Levis and open up running lanes for the rushing attack.
