NFL Duds of the Week: The worst Week One PERFORMANCEs

NFL Week One brought us some entertaining games, amazing individual performances, and great team wins. It has also brought us some awful player performances, aka the Duds of the Week. Let’s take a look at the biggest dud performances of the week from players who underwhelmed tremendously this weekend…

Kadarius Toney, Chiefs WR

Kadarius Toney supplied us with season-long memes after his terrible performance in Week One. The former Gator dropped many wide-open passes that a middle schooler would’ve caught, making Patrick Mahomes look like Daniel Jones. Toney hauled in one catch for one yard on five targets and looked disinterested and unmotivated. It’s only Week One, but Kadarius Toney is proving all the Giants fans right with terrible dud performances like this on National Television. I could’ve put the entire Chiefs Wide Receiver Room as a whole for this first dud, but Toney was exponentially worse than everyone else, which is pretty embarrassing for the former first-round pick…

Ryan Tannehill, Titans QB

There were some awful QB performances in Week One, but Ryan Tannehill takes the cake for single-handedly costing his team the game. The Titans’ QB threw three interceptions and missed two wide-open touchdowns in the second half. The ladder didn’t even crack 20 yards passing on 34 attempts and completed less than 50% of his passes. Tennessee’s defense played winning football, along with most of Tannehill’s offensive teammates. Number 17 cost the Titans the game, and it’s that simple. The biggest dud QB performance of the week goes to the former Aggie for putting his teammates in bad situations and costing the Titans a winnable game…

The entire Bengals offense

I know many are bashing Joe Burrow, but the entire Bengals’ offense was awful from start to finish. The receivers couldn’t create any separation, as Tee Higgins didn’t even record a reception. The offensive line didn’t play their best game, giving up two sacks and constant pressure. The run game was alright, but nothing special is Cincy was down the entire game. Zac Taylor’s predictable play calling and inability to solve problems also didn’t help Cincinnati as well. Finally, the $275 million dollar man doesn’t deserve a pass as well. Burrow was inaccurate and wasn’t in sync with his receiver for the entire game. 82 passing yards on 31 attempts isn’t $275 million dollar stuff, to say the least. Even though Cincy is on the dud list to start the season, I don’t expect to see them again as they are usually a very slow starting team that gets it going in the middle of the season…

The Chargers Defense

Tua and Tyreek single-handedly destroyed the Chargers’ defense, and they had no answers. Tyreek was beating JC Jackson off the line every single down for big chunk plays down the field, and Tua showed absolutely no respect to the Chargers Middle Linebackers. 215 receiving yards for Hill and 466 passing yards for Tua are the only two stats you need to know to realize just how bad the Chargers’ defense was. It looks like we’re headed for another wasted Justin Herbert year because of Brandon Staley and the dreadful defense…

Daniel Jones, Giants QB

Vanilla Vick arguably had the worst game of his professional career on Sunday Night Football, as the Giants were blown out by 40 points on the road. Jones completed just 53% of his passes, had two interceptions, and nearly lost two fumbles. The $40 million dollar QB looked overwhelmed and unprepared out there, as the Dallas defense had one of the greatest defense performances in franchise history. If Ryan Tannehill hadn’t played just a couple of hours earlier, Daniel Jones would’ve taken the QB Dud Trophy of the Week…

JK Dobbins Luck

This one isn’t funny, it’s just sad and unfortunate. Dobbins has the potential and skillset to be one of the best running backs in the NFL, but injuries have held him back his entire career. The former Buckeye had an impressive TD run on Sunday before his injury, so his performance isn’t one why he’s on the list, his luck is the reason why. Dobbins averaged a whopping six yards a carry his rookie season and showed the entire league what he could do, but injuries have taken his career from him. Prayers to Dobbins, nd hopefully we will see him on the field again!!
