Extreme Hot Takes for 2023 NFL Season

The NFL Season is finally here, and it’s hot take season!!

Geno Smith will win NFL MVP

The Seahawks have one of the most talented offenses in the NFL going into 2023, and Geno could be in for a mega-season. The CPOY Award winner will have field days throwing to Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, and first-round rookie Jaxson Smith-Nijaba. Seattle should be able to compete for the NFC West title, as the 49ers are their only competition. Could we see Geno Smith rewrite the narrative once again and win NFL MVP??

The Steelers will make the playoffs

Pittsburgh hasn’t had a losing season under Mike Tomlin, and the streak will continue in 2023. The Steel City will make the playoffs in 2023 and be a tough out for any team in the postseason. One of the main weaknesses for Pitt last year was the O-Line and they did a lot to improve it. Signing Issac Semulo and drafting Broderick Jones will change the entire offensive line. Pittsburgh also did a great job drafting in the middle rounds, as they snagged Joey Porter Jr and Darnell Washington on Day 2. Expect the Terrible Towels to be waved in pure joy this year…

Deandre Hopkins will win the Triple Crown

You wanted hot, so you’re getting hot. The Titans had an incredibly weak receiving corps before signing Hopkins, who will be the clear-cut WR1. Though Treylon Burks should be a nice compliment to Hopkins, D-Hop will be the clear alpha that the Titans have been looking for since trading A.J. Brown. So much so, that he will have a 2021 Cooper Kupp-esque season and lead the NFL in everything. The 31-year-old hasn’t lost a step and is still one of the best in the entire league…

The Chiefs will miss the AFCG

KC has never missed the AFC Championship with 15 under center, but this could be the year. The AFC is stacked with talent, young and old. The Bills and Bengals are still here, the Jets may have arrived, and the AFC North is stacked. Don’t forget Justin Herbert and the Chargers, and the up-and-coming Jags. The Titans are also improved and will always be there if Mike Vrabel is coaching them. KC may have the best QB, but there are a ton of teams in the AFC who are built well. The Chris Jones Contract situation is also a huge worry for the defending champions….

The Lions will win the Super Bowl

Detroit had a great season last year, going 9-8 and barely missing out on the postseason. In the offseason, they added to a great, young roster through free agency and the draft. Detroit improved their worst weakness in free agency, the secondary. Adding Cam Sutton and Emmanuel Mosley will fix those problems and CJ Gardner-Johnson. Though Johnson recently suffered an injury, all reports show that he should be fine for the season. They also added Brian Branch through the draft, who was the best safety in college football in 2022. On draft night, Detroit drafted electric Alabama RB Jahmyr Gibbs, who will pair well with David Montgomery in the backfield. Sam Laporta was a great add in the second round to play TE as well. Overall, Detroit has a stacked team on offense and defense, and could that lead to a Lombardi…

REMINDER: THESE ARE ALL HOT TAKES, AND PROBABLY WON’T HAPPEN!
