What Went wrong for Kristian Fulton in Nashville?
The Tennessee Titans selected LSU CB Kristian Fulton with the 61st pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. When Tennessee drafted the former five-star recruit, the franchise expected Fulton to be a cornerstone on the defense for years to come. Though he showed flashes of shutdown potential his first few years in the league, Fulton has completely fallen off a cliff this season and will likely find himself on a new team in 2024. This begs the question: What went wrong for Kristian Fulton in Nashville??
Fulton's biggest problem since entering the league has been staying on the field. The 25-year-old has never played over 13 games in a season and continues to deal with hamstring and lower-leg injuries. Despite this, Kristian showed flashes of dominance during his first three years in the league. The former LSU star allowed an average passer rating of 81.8 when targeted in his first three seasons in Tennessee and looked like a future building block for Shane Bowen's defense. Many believed that if Fulton could figure out this injury issue, he would easily be the Titans' CB1 for years. But this season has been a total trainwreck for Fulton and will likely bring his Titans' career to a sour end...
To say Kristian Fulton has been bad in 2023 would be an understatement. The former second-round pick has allowed a 114.1 passer rating when targeted this season and has an abysmal 46.4 PFF grade. Fulton has become the biggest liability on a subpar Titans' secondary and has once again been hit with the injury bug. The pending free agent is expected to miss multiple weeks with a hamstring injury and may have played his final game as a Titan on Sunday against the Colts. The once-promising young star has lost all his confidence and continues to suffer a surplus of injuries. Another failed Jon Robinson pickā¦.
