The Titans have Reached Their Ceiling with Mike Vrabel

The Tennessee Titans have lost 11 out of their last 13 regular season games, with their latest loss coming in London to the Ravens. Tennessee lost seven straight to end the 2022 season and is 2-4 through six games in 2023. In sports, you have to face reality and truth, and unfortunately for the Titans, they have to face this reality. Tennessee has reached its ceiling with Mike Vrabel as head coach, and they must move on from him if they want to become a True Super Bowl Contender…

Mike Vrabel has been a consequential part of the revitalization of this Titans’ franchise, as he has coached them to two division titles and multiple signature playoff wins. Vrabel was the one who pulled Marcus Mariota and inserted Ryan Tannehill as the starting QB, and that change worked out to a tee. But we have to face reality: Mike Vrabel isn’t going to lead the Titans to the Super Bowl anytime soon and will probably never get back to the AFCG, either. Vrabel’s defensive coaching style is outdated in today’s NFL, as offense reigns supreme. The best coaches in the league today are all offensive-minded, including Andy Reid, Kyle Shanahan, and Nick Sirianni. Also, the culture that Mike Vrabel spent years building in Tennessee looks to be fading right before our eyes. Tennessee isn’t playing with that same fire and passion they played with in years past this season. In his postgame press conference today, Jeffery Simmons even suggested this when he told Titans’ Reporter Paul Kuharsky: “We need to figure out the guys who want to be out there, not the guys who don’t.” Past Tennessee Titans Teams played extraordinarily physical and went to war with their head coach, but that hasn’t been the case this season…

Long story short, Mike Vrabel is on the brink of losing the locker room. The Titans haven’t won a road game since last November, and the losses keep piling up for Tennessee. Vrabel has turned this franchise around, but it may take a coaching change if the Titans want to take the next step as a franchise. Vrabel has taken them to an AFCG, and that’s as far as he will ever bring them…
